About this expedition
Pench takes its name from the river that runs through the reserve. Across the Madhya Pradesh–Maharashtra border, teak forest gives way to grassy openings and water. On a morning drive you can move from deep shade to a sunlit clearing in seconds. That changing light, and the chance to read the forest through its deer and langurs, make Pench a rewarding place to photograph even before a tiger appears.
Three nights in a luxury forest lodge at Pench with six planned safaris: an afternoon arrival drive, two drives each on the middle days and a final morning safari.

What to expect from this tour
Pench
Watch for chital, sambar and langurs as well as tigers. A herd’s change in posture is worth following even if the source of an alarm stays out of sight.
In your viewfinder. Pre-frame a gap between trunks rather than following every movement with the lens. Leave room in the frame for the animal to walk into.
Wildlife moves freely. Your guide follows local access rules and the conditions on the day.
